  3. Decisions, decisions.  I purchased an external Motorola Lifestyle 28.8 
  4. last weekend.  After the set-up, I gleefully attempted to try this new 
  5. modem on my rig.  Nothing...not even a squeal.  After about an hour of 
  6. trying different things (even though there is only one way for it to 
  7. work) I took the darn thing back and bought a Sportster 33.6.

  9. I am now able to get a consistant 28.8 connection with downloads coming 
  10. in at between 3.1k and 3.7k per second.  I never did figure out the 
  11. problem with the Motorola, but I did read about a problem that occurs in 
  12.  1/10th of 1% of all Motorola's sold (I read it at this site 
  13. http://web.aimnet.com/~jnavas/modem/faq.html) Just my luck to be in that 
  14. group, I guess.
